    Grand Haven S Pierhead is marked by a light 42 feet above the water shown from a signal building on the outer end. The channel leads E between parallel piers from Lake Michigan and upstream. The Municipal Marina is located on the E side of the river just below the junction at the S channel. Bridges about 2 3/4 miles upstream from the entrance are the Grand Trunk RR swing bridge with a 9-foot clearance and US 31 bridge with a 25-foot clearance.

Numerous harbor facilities are available along both sides of the river.
